Bio - Juin 2025: 

Le Dr Gabriel Altit a obtenu son diplôme de médecine à l’Université McGill avant de compléter sa résidence en pédiatrie puis sa surspécialité en néonatologie à l’Université de Montréal. Il est ensuite revenu au Centre universitaire de santé McGill (Hôpital de Montréal pour enfants) pour une formation avancée en échocardiographie ciblée, puis a poursuivi un fellowship de recherche post-doctorale au Pediatric ECHO Lab de l’Université Stanford. Parallèlement, il a terminé une maîtrise en épidémiologie à McGill (2017-2020). Nommé néonatologiste au sein de l’Université McGill et de l’Hôpital de Montréal pour enfants en octobre 2017, il a depuis bâti un programme de recherche translationnelle en hémodynamie néonatale. À titre de clinicien-chercheur (FRQS Junior 1) à l’IR-CUSM, il a fondé le NeoCardioLab (www.neocardiolab.com), une plateforme reconnue à l’international offrant ressources pédagogiques, site Web et application mobile (iPhone, iPad et Android) utilisés quotidiennement par la communauté TnECHO. Ses travaux, soutenus notamment par l’American Thoracic Society, la Fondation de la Recherche Pédiatrique, les IRSC, le Grand défi Pierre Lavoie et la Fondation Pour Enfants Seulement, portent sur la physiologie cardiovasculaire du nouveau-né, la POCUS cardiaque et l’imagerie avancée. En 2020, il a lancé et dirige le programme de fellowship en hémodynamie néonatale de McGill, seul programme accrédité par le Collège royal des médecins et chirurgiens du Canada au Québec. Il est professeur agrégé au Département de pédiatrie de l’Université McGill. Le Dr Altit siège au Comité Fœtus et Nouveau-Né de la Société canadienne de pédiatrie, co-rédige plusieurs énoncés de principes nationaux et agit comme expert-conseil auprès de l’INESSS sur l’hyperbilirubinémie néonatale.

Bio – June 2025: 

Dr. Gabriel Altit earned his medical degree from McGill University before completing his residency in pediatrics and subspecialty training in neonatology at the Université de Montréal. He returned to the McGill University Health Centre (Montreal Children’s Hospital) for advanced training in targeted neonatal echocardiography, followed by a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Pediatric ECHO Lab at Stanford University. In parallel, he completed a Master’s in Epidemiology at McGill (2017–2020). Appointed as a neonatologist at McGill University and the Montreal Children’s Hospital in October 2017, he has since built a translational research program in neonatal hemodynamics. As a clinician-scientist (FRQS Junior 1) at the RI-MUHC, he founded NeoCardioLab (www.neocardiolab.com), an internationally recognized platform offering educational resources, a website, and a mobile app (available on iPhone, iPad, and Android), used daily by the global TnECHO community. His research, supported by the American Thoracic Society, the Pediatric Research Foundation, CIHR, the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie, and the Fondation Pour Enfants Seulement, focuses on neonatal cardiovascular physiology, cardiac POCUS, and advanced imaging. In 2020, he launched and currently directs McGill’s fellowship program in neonatal hemodynamics, the only Royal College–accredited program of its kind in Quebec. Dr. Altit is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McGill University. He serves on the Fetus and Newborn Committee of the Canadian Paediatric Society, co-authors several national position statements, and acts as an expert advisor to INESSS on neonatal hyperbilirubinemia.
